Response to Poultry Investment Letter
The NFU Poultry Board Chair, James Mottershead, has responded to a letter published in Farmers Weekly, highlighting the need for meaningful support from stakeholders for British poultry producers.
The letter, written by Jenna Hegarty, Head of Policy at the Nature Friendly Farming Network, expressed concern over the NFU's call for public money to be spent on repairing and rebuilding old chicken broiler units, stating:
“it is concerning to see the NFU calling for public money to be spent on repairing and rebuilding old chicken broiler units”
Mottershead emphasized the importance of support from all stakeholders to enable the British poultry sector to continue innovating and contributing to national security.
