Upper Gwynedd Bridge Replacement Costs Rise

Costs for bridge replacement projects in Upper Gwynedd have increased by $2 million due to redesign and inflation, according to Township Manager Sandra Brookley Zadell.

A pair of bridge projects are planned for 2026, including a new bridge and the relocation of another along Sumneytown Pike.

“There is some bad news on this project. I do a big sigh, because it’s a lot,” said Sandra Brookley Zadell.

Zadell explained that the original cost estimate was made in 2021, and since then, prices have risen significantly.
