Arrest of Fleeing Driver in Pierce County
Deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after a pursuit involving a stolen box truck over the weekend.
According to the sheriff's office, the chase began on Sunday night when a deputy spotted the stolen truck driving on 198th Ave East near Bonney Lake. The driver fled when the deputy attempted to stop the truck, leading to a pursuit.
"Two attempted PITs, he drove out of both of them. Third time's a charm,"
a deputy is heard saying on video, referring to the use of a precision immobilization technique (PIT) to stop the truck. The truck eventually crashed into a grove of trees after the third PIT maneuver.
