Prioritized Safety Upgrades on Queensland Freight Route
Safety upgrades are set to commence on a key Queensland freight corridor, which handles up to 15,000 vehicles daily.
Planning is underway for road upgrades along the 60-kilometer Warrego Highway stretch between Toowoomba and Dalby, known for its poor crash history.

- Flattening road edges
- New signage and line marking
- Removal of roadside hazards
- Installation of dedicated turn lanes at Speed Road near Oakey
Construction is expected to start in late 2025 and continue into 2026 under the Targeted Road Safety Program.
