Cardinal Parolin on St. Carlo Acutis: Many ‘touched by his smile’ when they see his photo

Cardinal Parolin on St. Carlo Acutis

Cardinal Pietro Parolin celebrated a Mass marking the first liturgical memorial of St. Carlo Acutis, who was canonized by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020, but mistakenly referred to as Pope Leo XIV.

During his homily, Cardinal Parolin said:

Many when they see his picture are touched by his smile: Carlo spoke of Jesus above all with his radiant, luminous, and smiling face. Paul’s exhortation: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always,’

The Mass was held at the Mary Major Church in Assisi at the Shrine of the Renunciation. St. Carlo Acutis, who died in 2006 at the age of 15, is buried in a glass case on the side of the nave of the church.
