Can’t Win ‘Em All: Panthers Rally, But Lose First of Season to Flyers

Panthers Suffer First Loss of the Season

The Florida Panthers experienced their first defeat of the season, losing 5-2 to the Flyers. The Panthers, who were one of three teams to start 3-0 in the past 25 years after winning the Stanley Cup the previous season, found themselves down by two goals for the first time.

Despite a rally, the Panthers' efforts came up short. Sam Reinhart scored a shorthanded goal with 38 seconds remaining in the second period, and Sam Bennett tied the game with a power play goal at 10:15 of the third. However, Sean Couturier scored his second goal with 4:10 remaining, securing the win for the Flyers.

Dan Vladar made 24 saves, while Daniil Tarasov stopped 17 shots in his Florida debut.

The Panthers trailed 2-0 late in the second before their rally.
