Sikorsky has revealed a new Black Hawk prototype that transforms the 50-year-old design into an autonomous aircraft.
The U-Hawk, as it's called, retains the familiar size, shape, rotors, and green paint job of the Army's workhorse troop carrier, but with a new front end and no pilots, it may seem like science fiction to former passengers or crew.
The new design is part drone, part Transformer, with the goal of accompanying manned missions in the air.
Author's summary: Sikorsky's U-Hawk prototype is a revolutionary autonomous aircraft.
