Alcohol Not Involved in Fatal Wood Lake, MN, Fire Truck Crash

A blood test determined alcohol was not a factor in the wreck that left Wood Lake firefighter Pat Remiger dead.

Firefighter Andrew Vanhecke, 37, was driving the fire truck when it veered off the road and rolled over into a ditch, killing Remiger, 43, who was ejected from the rig.

Vanhecke and his six-year-old son, Beaux, were injured in the wreck that occurred while returning from homecoming activities at Lakeview School.

Troy Christianson said the crash report was amended after the blood results were received.
