A 25-year-old Albany woman, Imahjai Sutherland, has been charged with manslaughter for an alleged drunken crash on 787 that killed her two passengers.
State Police found a vehicle over an embankment off the northbound lanes in the area of Exit 5 just before 7 a.m. All three people in the vehicle had severe injuries.
The two passengers, 27-year-old Jamilla N. Tirado and 25-year-old Cepelynn T. Sutherland, both from Albany, were killed in the crash. The driver, Imahjai Sutherland, showed signs of intoxication and a blood sample was taken at Albany Medical Center.
Imahjai Sutherland was taken to the State Police Latham station after being released from the hospital.
No comment from authorities or the suspect's family was available.
