Indigenous People's Day Celebrated in Twin Ports
Twin Ports residents gathered at Duluth City Hall for a ceremony to celebrate Indigenous People's Day.
Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert and Superior Mayor Jim Payne proclaimed October 13th as Indigenous People's Day in both cities.
- Various Duluth and Superior schools attended the ceremony.
- The Fond du Lac Honor Guard was also in attendance, paying respect to local native culture.
"The reason I think we have Indigenous People's Day is because those of us that are not native have the opportunity to continue to encounter native people every day in our communities," said Payne.
