WHS Students and Police Unite for Safer Roads: 4-Year Program Drives Home Dangers of Distracted Driving - Good Morning Wilton

WHS Students and Police Unite for Safer Roads

Wilton High School collaborates with Wilton Police Department to deliver a unique safe driving awareness program, empowering teens as road safety advocates.

A collaboration between Wilton High School physical education teacher Dr. Kelly Holtz, media production teacher Maria Breece, and the Wilton Police Department brings education, creativity, and real-world safety lessons together.

Along with students in the Drive Wise Club and Video Club, they have made learning about the dangers of distracted driving a staple of the school’s fall curriculum.

The initiative, now in its fourth year, kicks off each October to coincide with National Teen Driver Safety Week, serving as a reminder of the importance of keeping eyes and minds on the road.
