The second issue of Star Wars: Boba Fett: Black, White and Red has been released. Here are my impressions and experience reading it.
The story takes place on Meddan, a bustling, shady planet recently introduced in Star Wars. It resembles popular underworld locations like Coruscant or Nar Shaddaa with crowded streets and dubious characters.
Boba Fett, renowned as a resolute bounty hunter, is determined to capture his target, Samu Mavolak, known for being difficult to catch. Mavolak is a Zeltron— a humanoid species characterized by red skin — notorious for owing money and fleeing from everyone, even fooling Fett until his clever deception was uncovered.
Boba Fett shows compassion towards Mavolak, highlighting his humane side. For a brief moment, I thought the story was about Din Djarin, as Fett’s hunt of wanted individuals has been a common theme. This detail gives the story a slight variation from typical bounty hunter tales.
The issue offers a glimpse into Boba Fett’s hunt on Meddan, emphasizing his determination and humanity amid an underworld setting, with a focus on character depth rather than action.
