Yankees Free Agent Outfielder Linked to Signing With Dodgers

Yankees Outfielder Linked to Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly eyeing a move to sign a key outfielder from the New York Yankees this offseason. Such a deal could significantly reshape the Yankees' outfield roster for next season.

This past season, New York’s outfield featured Cody Bellinger in left, Trent Grisham in center, and Aaron Judge in right. Both Bellinger and Grisham are about to enter free agency and may explore other opportunities.

Analyst Connects Dodgers and Grisham

According to MLB insider and analyst Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report, Los Angeles could be among the top suitors for Grisham in free agency.

“If they’re looking to sign a one-year solution until at least one of the outfield prospects is ready in 2027, the best option is probably just bringing back Michael Conforto at what would presumably be a discounted rate in the aftermath of his tough year,” Miller wrote. “But maybe they instead pursue a multi-year deal with a 28-year-old, two-time Gold Glove center fielder fresh off the most homer-happy season of his career, by far. Grisham looked like a non-tender candidate one year ago. But he has quite unexpectedly become maybe the third-most coveted outfielder in this free agent class, behind only Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger.”

Potential Fit in Los Angeles

If acquired, Grisham would likely serve as the Dodgers’ starting center fielder, providing a mix of Gold Glove defense and revived power batting. His addition could bolster a lineup that occasionally struggled during the World Series.

Grisham, coming off a season with 34 home runs and 74 RBIs, earned $5 million in 2025 and is now positioned for a raise as he enters free agency.

Author’s Summary

Dodgers could strengthen their outfield by signing Trent Grisham from the Yankees, adding defensive stability and much-needed power to their roster.
