After nine weeks of the season, analysts are beginning to see a clear picture of which NFL players are competing for top honors and who would make PFF’s midseason All-Pro roster. The selections were made by a panel of senior PFF analysts, based on player grades and advanced metrics recorded through the first nine weeks.
Sam Darnold leads all quarterbacks with an overall PFF grade of 93.5 and a passing grade of 92.6, both the highest in the league. In eight games, he has produced 21 big-time throws, tying for the NFL lead. His 9.1% big-time throw rate is the best among quarterbacks, while his 2.0% turnover-worthy play rate ranks seventh at the position.
Second Team: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Jonathan Taylor currently leads the NFL with 4.07 yards gained after contact per carry. To illustrate his dominance, sixteen running backs with 50 or more attempts have not reached that average in total yards per carry. Taylor also leads in forced missed tackles with 41 and ranks fourth in receiving yards among running backs.
Second Team: James Cook, Buffalo Bills
Reggie Gilliam has participated in 74 snaps at fullback this season. His 69.1 PFF run-blocking grade stands as the top mark at the position. He has also excelled in pass protection, allowing zero pressures on 12 blocking snaps.
Second Team: Adam Prentice, Denver Broncos
“Through the first half of the season, clear leaders have emerged across multiple positions, reflecting consistent performance and elite efficiency.”
Midway through the 2025 NFL season, Sam Darnold, Jonathan Taylor, and Reggie Gilliam headline the PFF midseason All-Pro roster with dominant individual performances and advanced metrics to match.
