Chicago weather: About that upcoming threat of snow...

Chicago Weather: Upcoming Snow Threat

Mild and breezy conditions will persist through Friday before a weekend storm brings cooler weather. FOX 32's Mike Caplan provides the latest forecast details.

Weekday Weather Outlook

Throughout the workweek, Chicago will experience mild November temperatures. Today is expected to be mostly cloudy to partly sunny, with highs in the lower 60s.

The wind will be calmer compared to yesterday but will pick up tonight and into tomorrow. Overnight lows will remain in the 50s, close to the usual daytime high for this season.

Thursday and Friday Forecast

Thursday will be dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s as the next storm system begins to approach. Showers and potentially some embedded thunderstorms are expected from Thursday night through Friday morning.

After the morning showers on Friday, the day will remain breezy and mild with temperatures rising again into the lower 60s.

Weekend Storm and Snow Possibility

The weekend brings a new storm system, likely arriving Saturday afternoon. Showers are expected with highs near the lower 50s, followed by a significant drop in temperature on Sunday.

Precipitation should end by Sunday morning and clear most of the area before the Bears game.

"There is much ballyhoo already about potential snow arriving Sunday or Monday and here’s what I will say about that: The US model has scaled back its ridiculous snowfall prediction from yesterday."

Summary: Mild weather will last through Friday before a weekend storm brings showers and colder air; the exaggerated snow forecast has since been reduced.
