On November 4, tensions escalated during a live-streamed Miss Universe sashing ceremony ahead of the 2025 competition in Bangkok. What seemed like a graceful event revealed heated moments behind the scenes.
Nawat Itsaragrisil, president of Miss Grand International (MGI), confronted Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, after she reportedly skipped a sponsorship shoot to film with Telemundo. In the footage, Nawat can be heard shouting,
“Stop. If anyone wants to continue the contest, sit down.”Following his outburst, Bosch left the stage, with several other contestants walking out in protest.
Nawat’s actions sparked widespread criticism, as he asked security to remove Miss Mexico from the ceremony. The incident led some delegates to stand in solidarity with Bosch by leaving the event together.
