During an interview with Jake Shane on the podcast Therapuss, Hilary Duff admitted she has no memory of recording the song "What Dreams Are Made Of" from The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which was released in 2003.
Jake Shane, 26, shared that he recently watched The Lizzie McGuire Movie and reminisced about Duff’s performance of the song.
"I was like, this song is actually poetic," Shane said, adding, "I was also really high but it was fantastic."
Shane asked Duff if she ever thought the song was amazing, to which she responded:
"No... very much, no. Absolutely not. I don't even remember recording that song."
Although she could not recall the recording session, Duff expressed her fondness for the song now and at the time of filming the movie.
"But I will say now I love it. And when I was filming the movie, I loved it. It was just — it was a weird time."
Duff also clarified that the song technically belonged to the character Lizzie McGuire, not herself personally.
"It wasn't technically my song. It was a Lizzie McGuire song," she explained, adding she was 14 years old during that period.
