South Effingham Volleyball Rallies Past Milton to Elite Eight

South Effingham fought back after dropping the first set to defeat eighth-ranked Milton 3-1 in the Class 5A state volleyball playoffs.

The Mustangs advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time in three years behind strong performances from Morgan Stringer and Clara Vorel.

She’s hot — feed her, feed her.

South Effingham outside hitter Morgan Stringer got on a roll Saturday morning in the second round of the Class 5A volleyball state championships. Her teammates did just that, and Stringer ate up eighth-ranked Milton. The 6-foot junior finished with 17 kills — several coming at critical moments — as South rallied from a set down to defeat the visiting Eagles 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-18) and advance to the Elite Eight for the second time in three years.

Everyone was putting in so much effort. It was easy to feed off of

said Stringer.

Author summary: South Effingham wins 3-1 against Milton.
