Jessica Pegula has finally defeated Aryna Sabalenka after four consecutive losses, coming from a set down to secure her third win over the Belarusian in 11 matches.
Pegula now trails 3-8 in head-to-head matchups against World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, but has made significant progress in the Wuhan Open, surpassing her previous performance of not progressing beyond the third round.
Prior to arriving in Wuhan, Pegula's China Open run was ended by eventual runner-up Linda Noskova in the semifinals, and the Wuhan Open's first seed had previously prevented her from winning three Big Titles after reaching the finals, including last year's US Open.
Jessica Pegula has finally got her revenge on Aryna Sabalenka in a 'crazy' Wuhan clash.
