Chattanooga Residents Frustrated by Brush Pickup Delays
Piles of brush are accumulating outside homes in Chattanooga, causing frustration among residents and city council members due to a backlog of 311 calls.
A significant number of brush service requests, nearly 2,300, were pending as of the end of September, with most submitted between one and three weeks ago.
Councilman Dennis Clark attributed the issue to management problems, while Chattanooga public works spokesperson Errol Williams cited high demand, staffing shortages, and issues with a 311 software upgrade as reasons for the delays.
