The South Lake Tahoe City Council discussed a proposal to modify the city seal, which has remained unchanged since 1966.
Council member Scott Robbins suggested adjusting the dotted line through the middle of Lake Tahoe by angling it diagonally at the end. He believes this adjustment would more accurately represent the state's true borders.
“The city seal has stood as a link between our past and present. It has marked every chapter of our city’s history and remains a powerful emblem of who we are,” said South Lake Tahoe City Clerk Susan Blankenship, advocating for preservation of the existing seal.
The proposal passed with a 3-0 vote and is scheduled for final approval in the November meeting.
