Residents of Metro Vancouver should make the most of clear skies before another strong wave of storms arrives. The region will see a brief stretch of sunshine before a wetter and windier pattern dominates again.
Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor told V.I.A. 7 that the Lower Mainland will enjoy a bright start to the weekend after two frontal systems brought heavy rain and wind earlier in the week.
"The rain during rush hour was more intense than we expected, although rainfall totals were aligned with the forecast,"

Rainfall warnings were issued for higher-precipitation areas such as the North Shore and Port Coquitlam. Friday will see clear skies and temperatures dipping to around 6°C overnight. Saturday is expected to be the best day of the week, with blue skies and a cool 5°C overnight low.
The upcoming week will bring the return of stormy weather as the Pacific jet stream moves onshore, driving a series of successive systems toward the British Columbia coast. Sunday’s forecast resembles Wednesday’s storm, bringing rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 millimetres across most of the Lower Mainland.
After a brief reprieve of sunny skies, Metro Vancouver faces another cycle of Pacific storms as the jet stream delivers heavy rain to the region once more.
Author’s note: A fleeting window of sunshine gives way to renewed rain as Pacific weather systems target the Lower Mainland with fresh downpours and potential warnings.
