Jetstar Brings Back International Flights to Avalon

Jetstar is set to resume international flights from Avalon Airport next March, introducing a new route to Bali and reinstating its previous Avalon–Adelaide service. The move marks the return of international operations at Avalon for the first time since early 2020.

New Routes and Expanded Services

The airline will operate five flights per week from Avalon to Bali starting 23 March, using its A321neo LR fleet. Flights to Adelaide will run up to seven times a week from 26 March, while capacity on Brisbane routes will rise by up to five flights weekly.

“This is a massive step forward for Jetstar at Melbourne Avalon Airport. We’re launching two new routes and adding more seat capacity than ever before,” said Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully.

Supporting Regional Growth

Tully emphasized that the expansion provides travelers with more affordable options, whether heading for a family vacation in Bali or a short break in Adelaide or Brisbane. She noted the initiative will support increased passenger traffic and regional development around Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula.

“This investment will see thousands more customers fly through Melbourne’s second airport gateway, supporting the economic growth of Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula,” added Stephanie Tully.

Jetstar’s growth at Avalon will add over 330,000 seats annually. Avalon Airport CEO Ari Suss stated the increased flight capacity will benefit both local residents and visiting tourists.

Acknowledgments
“I want to thank the Victorian Government, Melbourne Avalon Airport and Adelaide Airport for their support of low fares travel,” said Stephanie Tully.
