Former Dawgs Coach Mark Richt Denies Hospitalization Rumors

Mark Richt, 65, who led the Georgia Bulldogs football team from 2001 to 2015, has denied recent rumors claiming he was hospitalized.

“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”

Richt shared this message on X (formerly Twitter), addressing the false online claims about his health.

The former coach experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. During his time at Georgia, he achieved an impressive record of 145–51, won two SEC championships, and captured nine bowl victories.

After his tenure in Athens, Richt returned to his alma mater, the University of Miami, to coach from 2016 to 2018.
