The Canada postal strike has entered a critical stage as rotating strikes by Canada Post continue across multiple provinces, impacting mail and parcel delivery ahead of the busy holiday season.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), representing over 50,000 employees including letter carriers, mail handlers, and plant workers, initiated the rotating strikes earlier this month after months of unsuccessful contract talks with Canada Post.
“We’ve been patient for too long,” said CUPW national president Jan Simpson. “Our members deserve fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect for the critical public service they provide.”
Mail services have already been disrupted in provinces including Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Alberta, causing delays and uncertainty as the holiday season approaches.
Summary: Ongoing rotating strikes by postal workers across Canada highlight critical disputes over wages, job security, and rural worker protections, heavily affecting mail delivery nationwide.
