Inspired by a harrowing true story, Lucy Liu delivers a striking, career-defining performance as a mother battling illness while trying to protect her troubled teenage son, played by Lawrence Shou. As his obsessions deepen and time slips away, she faces impossible decisions about how far she will go and what she must give up.
Set within the tense atmosphere of a Chinese American community, Rosemead unfolds as a gripping portrait of a family fighting to hold together under immense pressure.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Eric Lin, known for his work as a cinematographer on numerous independent productions. The screenplay is written by Marilyn Fu and produced by Mynette Louie and Andrew D.
Rosemead premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Vertical plans to release the film in select U.S. theaters on December 5, 2025.
