Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada will restart next week despite the ongoing rolling strike at Canada Post. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office confirmed that mail service to Canada will resume on Monday but warned that delivery delays could still happen due to ongoing disruptions.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Mail deliveries to Canada were halted in late September because of a nationwide strike at Canada Post. Recently, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers shifted from a national strike to a rotating strike, enabling mail delivery to recommence.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
The Bermuda Post Office will resume mail shipments to Canada next Monday amid the ongoing postal strike, with possible delays and some local office closures expected.
