Hayley Williams shared “Showbiz,” an unexpected addition to her third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which was officially released on vinyl today. This track joins previously added songs “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” expanding beyond the initial 17-song lineup Williams released over the summer through her label Post Atlantic, in partnership with Secretly Distribution.
Williams co-wrote “Showbiz” with longtime collaborator and producer Daniel James, who contributed to the entire album. The song vividly captures a romantic moment amidst the fog and flickering strobe lights of a nightclub. Williams sings:
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me,”
reflecting on whether the experience held equal weight for her partner.
The visualizer for “Showbiz” highlights the Nashville skyline and includes the distinctive scribble-style artwork Williams has consistently used across the album’s design.
To mark the vinyl release, record stores worldwide hosted events named “Ego Nite,” featuring playback of the album, exclusive merchandise, and physical copies of LPs for fans.
“Last night, record stores around the world celebrated the album’s physical release with ‘Ego Nite,’ which featured record playback, merch, and physical copies of the LP.”
Fans can listen to “Showbiz” and view its visualizer as part of this ongoing promotional celebration.
