Mild fall weather will persist through Friday, but a weather system approaching this weekend might bring the first mix of rain and snow to the Chicago area.
Despite a cold front moving through, the day will be mostly sunny and windy. High temperatures will vary from the low to mid-50s in northern counties to the low 60s in southern counties. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear and chilly with lows in the 30s.
The day will begin with a few clouds, increasing by late afternoon. High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50s. After midnight, light showers are likely across the area, though rainfall amounts should be minimal.
“There will be much discussion in coming days over what exactly falls from the sky Saturday night and or Sunday night into Monday morning.” — FOX 32's Mike Caplan
Both US and European weather models support the possibility of a wintry mix developing this weekend.
Chicago will see mild fall weather until Friday before a weekend system may bring rain turning to snow, though significant accumulation is unlikely.
