Jennifer Lawrence Says She Encountered Ghosts While Filming 'Causeway'

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence shared that she had several supernatural experiences while filming her 2022 movie "Causeway" in New Orleans. Speaking on the "Las Culturistas" podcast with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, Lawrence discussed strange encounters that left her unsettled.

She recalled that while staying in a New Orleans hotel—whose name she did not disclose—she was lying in bed when a housekeeper entered, apologized for waking her, and left. Later, Lawrence discovered her door had been deadbolted from the inside, making it impossible for anyone to have come in.

"I don't know, I just come from a world where we believe women," Lawrence remarked.

She admitted to the hosts that she might have been drifting in and out of sleep at the time but maintained that the experience was deeply unnerving. This was not the only occasion she felt a ghostly presence. While staying at another house in New Orleans during production, she said the kitchen doors began slamming open and shut on their own while she was watching TV alone.

Other Reported Experiences

Lawrence also mentioned feeling haunted in Charlotte, North Carolina, describing those incidents as "really bad." The mix of eerie events across filming locations left her convinced that something supernatural might have been at play.
