Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, offered an apology to Canada after being spotted wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers cap during the World Series game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
He and Meghan Markle attended the match last Tuesday, which Toronto eventually lost to the Dodgers in the decisive seventh game on Sunday.
"Firstly, I would like to apologise to Canada for wearing it," he said. "Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn't much choice."
Speaking to Canadian broadcaster CTV, Harry explained that he wore the Dodgers cap because he was invited to the dugout by the team’s owner and felt it was “the polite thing to do.”
"When you're missing a lot of hair on top, and you're sitting under floodlights, you'll take any hat that's available," he joked.
Harry added with a smile that despite the cap, he supported the Blue Jays through games five, six, and seven.
"Now that I've admitted that, it's going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles," he said.
