The creators and producer of Stranger Things responded to reports claiming that Millie Bobby Brown accused David Harbour of bullying and harassment, which reportedly led to an investigation by Netflix.
Shawn Levy, the show’s producer, spoke at the season five world premiere, emphasizing their commitment to creating a respectful and safe work environment.
“We did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so. And I’ve read a bunch of stories that range from wildly inaccurate to… you know, there’s so much noise around it.”
Levy added, “The truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family and so we treat each other with respect. And that’s always been the bedrock.”
Ross Duffer, who co-created the show with his brother Matt, expressed similar views without addressing specifics.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them.”
He continued, “So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
The show’s leadership strongly denies the reported allegations, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining a respectful and secure workplace culture.
The Stranger Things team emphasizes their family-like bond and commitment to a safe set, dismissing reports as largely inaccurate while prioritizing respect and care among cast and crew.
