Defiant Transgender in Women’s Locker Room Convicted of Violent Assault

A man recently seen in a women’s locker room at a Los Angeles gym has a criminal record for violent offenses. Alexis Black, formerly known as Grant Freeman, made headlines this week after singer Tish Hyman raised concerns about his presence inside the Beverly Center Gold’s Gym women’s locker room.

Hyman accused Black of exposing himself and harassing women there, including her. Following her complaint, Gold’s Gym revoked her membership.

#goldsgym terminated my membership after the MAN was escorted out by police. Then had me escorted out by officers afterwards. I left but not before making sure everyone KNEW that they were allowing MEN in the locker room !!!!! — Tish Hyman (@listen2tish) November 3, 2025

According to the New York Post, Black pleaded guilty in 2022 to severely beating his then-wife, Alexis Freeman, causing a compound fractured jaw that required surgery.

“Kyle Grant Freeman caused serious physical harm to the victim,” the court documents stated. “The victim suffered a compound fractured mandible, which resulted in her needing surgery.”

After legally changing his name, Black adopted his ex-wife’s first name, Alexis. His criminal record also includes convictions for domestic violence, drug trafficking, and resisting arrest.
