Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

Message from Angus Provost Craig Fotheringham

This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services will be held across Angus with parades and the laying of wreaths to honor all who gave their lives defending our freedoms.

Please, if you have not already planned to attend and are able, I encourage you to take a moment to join others in your community at one of these events and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

If you cannot attend, I ask you to quietly reflect, alone or with friends and family, and remember the fallen.

Armistice Day Observance

Tuesday, 11 November, is Armistice Day—another chance to pay respects. At 11 a.m., whether at home or work, please pause for two minutes of silence to honor the bravery and selflessness of our Armed Services.

“We must and will remember them.”

Support for Serving Personnel

I also want to thank the service men and women who continue to serve our country near and far. As they protect us, we will support them.

The past years have brought uncertain times, with the harsh realities of war shown to us through various media.
