The comedian Alan Carr, 49, triumphed in a nail-biting finale of Celebrity Traitors on Thursday night, successfully concealing his Traitor identity from the Faithful throughout the competition.
Following the episode, on the spin-off show Uncloaked, Alan publicly apologized to his close friend Paloma Faith, 44, after dramatically eliminating her during the game.
Alan admitted to feeling deep remorse for deceiving his friends, especially for targeting Paloma, who was pregnant at the time. He explained that he had to choose her as his first victim by pretending to poison her with pollen from a fake lily, which sparked her anger at the betrayal.
"The thing is, when I killed Paloma I felt sick inside. And you've got to remember, it was such a cruel twist to touch someone's face."
Trying to defend his actions, Alan told host Ed Gamble that he felt "awful" about the turn of events but insisted he had no alternative but to pick Paloma.
Alan Carr won Celebrity Traitors while expressing sincere regret for the difficult choice to betray a close friend on the show.
