Road Closures in the City for Pageant Day Tomorrow
The Christmas Pageant, marking the start of the festive season, will take place tomorrow morning. Road users are advised to plan ahead due to several closures across the CBD.
Major roads will be closed from early morning until afternoon as over 300,000 people are expected to watch the annual event.
Pageant Route
This year’s route begins at South Terrace, proceeds to King William Street, traces the western edge of Tarntanyangga, then moves through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, North Terrace, and finishes at Beehive Corner.
Safety and Transport Advice
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
