The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, organized by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year’s total of 18,414.
A total of 335 anglers joined the tournament, and 116 of them turned in catches. The fishing totals from Monday through Thursday reached 5,369, while Friday through Sunday produced 13,775 — both higher than the 2024 figures of 3,811 and 14,603, respectively.
Veteran fisherman Terry Krogstad from Kalispell earned the title of Top Angler with 1,206 lake trout entries and an 18-day average of 57.83.
The Top 10 anglers were ranked based on their best 18 fishing days:
“Jens Gran of Polson won all three of the Mack Days Bucket of Fish contests with a total of 93.65 pounds of lake trout.”
