Quinton de Kock’s unbeaten century and Tony de Zorzi’s strong half-century led South Africa to an impressive eight-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second ODI held at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
Mohammad Wasim Jr took an important wicket in the 12th over by catching Pretorius behind the stumps. Pretorius scored 46 off 40 balls with seven fours and one six.
After Pretorius’s dismissal, Tony de Zorzi joined de Kock, and together they boosted South Africa’s position with a 153-run partnership for the second wicket.
Faheem Ashraf eventually got de Zorzi caught at point in the 35th over. De Zorzi scored a quick 76 off 63 balls, including nine fours and three sixes.
The victory equalized the series at 1-1. The final and deciding third ODI will be played at the same venue on Saturday.
