Trysull and Seisdon WI members have once again honored the tradition of displaying poppies on the war memorial at Trysull church. This marks the fourth consecutive year the groups have arranged the Remembrance Day poppy display there.
Members dedicated significant time knitting thousands of poppies as a tribute to all who sacrificed their lives in war. In addition to the traditional red poppies, some purple poppies were included to recognize the animals that served and died alongside soldiers.
“While we were busy doing this several passers-by commented on how lovely they looked. A fitting tribute to all those who gave their lives.”
These efforts ensure that the poppy tribute remains a vibrant and heartfelt reminder of sacrifice every year in Trysull.
Author's summary: The Trysull and Seisdon WI have maintained a meaningful Remembrance Day poppy display for four years, honoring those lost in war and the animals who served alongside them.
