Presiding Bishop Gérald Caussé was announced Thursday as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Now known as Elder Caussé, he is 62 years old and has served as the church's presiding bishop for the past 11 years. He was called to the apostleship and ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks, along with other leaders of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
