Elder Gérald Caussé became the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks along with the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ,” Elder Caussé said. “He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
Apostles serve as special witnesses of Jesus Christ worldwide and carry administrative duties, managing the growth and operations of the global Church. The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest governing body in the Church, serving under the First Presidency, which is led by the Church President and two counselors.
Elder Caussé’s appointment highlights the continuing international growth and diversity within the Church leadership.
