In an important update for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gérald Caussé has been appointed as the newest apostle, marking a significant moment in the church’s leadership.
Born in Bordeaux, France, Gérald Caussé serves as the church’s 15th presiding bishop and is the third presiding bishop born outside the United States. Since October 2015, he has been responsible for managing the church’s real estate, financial, investment, and humanitarian efforts.
His French heritage adds diversity to the church’s leadership, which includes two other European apostles: Dieter F. Uchtdorf from Germany and Patrick Kearon from Britain.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life.”
This strong faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of his new role as an apostle.
Caussé’s expertise includes overseeing the church's extensive financial holdings, which have attracted significant attention in recent years. His background combines faith with a commitment to responsible stewardship, including environmental concerns.
Gérald Caussé brings a unique blend of deep faith, financial knowledge, and international perspective to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, enriching the church’s leadership with fresh insight.
