The Pharaohs trailed 18–17 at halftime but surged ahead after the break, taking a 25–21 lead. Germany fought back strongly and managed to force extra time with a last-second goal to level the score at 37–37.
In the first extra period, Youssef Amr gave Egypt brief hope with a clutch strike, but Germany held firm and secured the championship with a 44–43 victory at the end of the second extra period.
