A viral video has circulated online claiming to show the NEOM Stadium — part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious NEOM megaproject — built atop a skyscraper. In fact, the images were generated by artificial intelligence and have no relation to the official plans.
The visuals, appearing in late October, depict a futuristic football stadium suspended high above a city. Many social media users alleged it represented the upcoming NEOM Stadium designed for The Line, the planned linear city within the project.
“Internet users claim it shows the stadium planned for The Line, the futuristic city within Saudi Arabia’s megaproject NEOM.”
Rwandan user Edwin Musoni shared the clip on X on October 26, gaining around 3.5 million views. He asserted the structure was located 1,150 feet (350 meters) above ground level.
However, official NEOM project accounts on X and Instagram do not contain any posts featuring such visuals. The legitimate stadium is planned as part of The Line but will not resemble the AI imagery.
“A post from last December features the NEOM Stadium, which is actually slated to be built 350 metres above the ground.”
Author’s summary: AI-generated visuals of a stadium atop a skyscraper were misidentified as NEOM’s real design, though official plans place the project’s stadium 350 meters above ground within The Line.
