Shapiro was raised in Burbank, a city in Los Angeles County. His mother worked as a TV company executive, and his father was a composer and piano player. Both of his parents identified as Reagan Republicans. Growing up, Shapiro lived in a two-bedroom house and shared a bedroom with his three older sisters.
In 2015, Ben Shapiro cofounded The Daily Wire, a conservative media company. The platform offers podcasts, streamed shows, scripted movies, and documentaries. As of 2024, The Daily Wire's estimated value exceeded $220 million.
