FC Midtjylland coach Mike Tullberg, formerly of Borussia Dortmund, has spoken about Bayern Munich’s reported pursuit of striker Franculino. During the summer transfer period, Bayern were rumored to be considering the young forward from the Danish club.
Recent reports from Denmark indicated that a Bayern scout attended Midtjylland’s 1-1 draw with AGF in the Danish Superliga on Monday, hinting that the German champions remain attentive to Franculino’s performance.
Tullberg expressed assurance that Franculino would stay at the club at least until the end of the current season.
“Of course I expect him to stay. I’ve told the club that I want my players to remain, so I don’t anticipate anyone leaving.”
When asked directly about Bayern Munich’s intentions, Tullberg responded humorously, referencing his past ties with Borussia Dortmund.
“No FCM players will be moving to FC Bayern. If they’re leaving, it will be for Dortmund.”
The Norwegian coach previously worked with Dortmund’s reserve and U19 squads and briefly served as caretaker manager for three matches following Nuri Sahin’s departure in January. Meanwhile, Franculino continues to impress, having scored 17 goals in 24 appearances this season.
Author’s summary: Tullberg confidently dismisses Bayern Munich’s approach for Franculino, joking that any transfer from Midtjylland would lead to Dortmund, not Bayern.
