On Tuesday night, “The Daily Show” host Jordan Klepper humorously commented on Andrew Cuomo’s last attempt to surpass New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, describing it as “bizarre.” Klepper compared Cuomo’s campaign move to O.J. Simpson’s infamous Ford Bronco chase.
“The only man with a chance of perhaps beating Mamdani is Andrew Cuomo, former New York governor, and mayoral candidate most likely to tell the Statue of Liberty she has a hell of an ass.”
Klepper explained that Cuomo, having lost the primary to Mamdani, was now running as an independent. He joked about Cuomo's serious, policy-focused approach while Mamdani “is out there in da clubs.”
The show then aired a clip from Cuomo’s campaign labeled “The Good Luck Truck,” featuring Cuomo proudly presenting his white 1996 Ford Bronco, calling it “an oldie but a goodie.” He insisted the car symbolized his confidence in winning.
“A white, mid-’90s, Ford Bronco?” Klepper asked, as the studio audience roared with laughter. “Isn’t that O.J.’s car?”
His closing jab pointed out that Cuomo’s campaign message essentially boiled down to owning a car associated with one of America’s most infamous chases.
Jordan Klepper ridiculed Andrew Cuomo’s quirky campaign stunt featuring a Ford Bronco identical to O.J. Simpson’s, turning it into a viral moment of political satire.
