Canon introduced its latest full-frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R6 Mark III, designed as a versatile tool for both photography and video. The camera will be available starting November 25th for $2,799 body-only, or in lens kits including the RF 24-105mm STM for $3,149 and the RF 24-105mm L for $4,049.
Canon has added several ergonomic and usability upgrades to better suit hybrid creators. Video users will appreciate the full-size Type A HDMI port, replacing the smaller Micro HDMI connection, and a bright tally lamp that indicates active recording from a distance. Additional gamma options, including Canon Log 2 and customizable looks, expand creative control in post-production.
“The R6 Mark III seems no slouch now that it’s upping the res from 24 megapixels in the last-gen model to 32.5 megapixels.”
The R6 series targets photographers who need strong performance without the cost of Canon’s higher-end R5 Mark II, which offers a 45-megapixel sensor. The R6 Mark III bridges that gap by delivering high-quality imaging and advanced video capabilities at a more accessible price.
Author’s summary: Canon’s EOS R6 Mark III raises the bar for hybrid creators with a 32.5MP sensor, 7K recording, and refined usability—all at a competitive $2,799 launch price.
