Morning Wick to Inverness Train Cancelled Due to Fault
The 08:02 ScotRail service from Wick to Inverness was cancelled because of a train fault. Passengers waiting at stations en route were informed that their tickets would be valid on the Stagecoach X99 bus service instead.
Alternative Travel Arrangements
A ScotRail spokesman explained:
“The cancellation is due to a train fault. We have arranged for valid tickets and Smartcards to be accepted on the Stagecoach X99 service at 09:20 at no extra cost. Please show your ticket or pass to the driver on request."
Passengers were advised that using the bus would increase travel time and ScotRail apologised for the disruption.

- If the delay exceeds 30 minutes, passengers can claim compensation via ScotRail’s Delay Repay scheme at ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay.
- Alternatively, passengers could take the 12:34 departure from Wick.
ScotRail encourages passengers to plan accordingly due to the disruption on this route.
