Erika Kirk became emotional during an interview on Fox News while discussing her late husband, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10. The interview aired on November 5 with host Jesse Watters.
Erika spoke about the early days of their relationship and how she supported Charlie as his career advanced, especially his work with Turning Point USA. Throughout the interview, Jesse showed her several video clips of Charlie, which deeply moved her.
“It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second,” Erika said, bowing her head and starting to weep.
Jesse Watters gently consoled her, saying, “Take your time.” As she struggled to maintain composure, Fox News faded to black before continuing the interview. When she returned, she appeared more composed though still tearful.
Jesse asked Erika about Charlie’s mission and the day before the shooting.
“Charlie was on a mission to save Western civilization. Did you know that's what you signed up for?” — Jesse Watters
“No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life.” — Erika Kirk
Regarding the day before the incident, Erika shared, “He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event.”
Erika Kirk’s heartfelt interview reveals her devotion and the profound impact of Charlie Kirk’s mission and untimely death.
